A boiler breakdown is never much fun, especially in winter. If you need an urgent repair, let me know as soon as you can and I’ll do my best to rearrange my diary and fit you in the same day.

I appreciate that the word “emergency” can immediately make you think “expensive”, but that doesn’t have to be the case. I don’t increase my normal charges simply because your boiler repair is urgent. The exception is genuine out-of-hours work, when an additional charge may apply — family time is important to me too!

There are many makes and models of gas boiler and even more reasons why one might stop working. Finding the real cause of the fault is important, so I take a careful, methodical approach to diagnosis rather than simply replacing parts in the hope of finding the problem.

I work on most gas combi and heat-only boilers. If you have a particularly old or unusual boiler and still have the manufacturer’s manual, it can sometimes be useful, but don’t worry if you haven’t — I’ll still do my best to identify the problem.

Sometimes repairing an old boiler simply doesn’t make financial sense. That may not be what you want to hear, and I won’t recommend replacement unnecessarily. If I believe repair is no longer the sensible option, I’ll explain why and can give you a quotation for a replacement boiler so that you can make an informed decision.
